GENESIS

Genesis, with it, I was born into art.

A full stop to what I was.

Ellipses, because I didn’t know how it would come.

I began. Color and form appeared to me intrusively. I didn’t seek them. They did.

I knew it very clearly: abstract impressionism speaks to me. I want to do it. To paint and reveal for others what exists only in my mind. Selfish or not, that feeling pleased me… and still does.

The dialogue began. At first shy, then it grew more confident. Little by little, it became my form of artistic expression. I feel good. At ease, from a place where I can step out and explore whatever I want, grow and learn… and then return with more intention and strength.

It is me. It is my way of speaking, of telling what I live in my personal journey.

Abstract painting with colorful organic shapes, including green, orange, pink, yellow, black, white, blue, and beige, set against a pastel pink background with white vertical streaks at the bottom.

Latency was born from a deeply uncertain moment in my life and in my career. I painted it with my left hand after fracturing the wrist of my dominant hand. That accident, which at first seemed purely physical, opened a much larger and more painful question: not knowing whether I would be able to continue painting.

During that time, my body forced me to stop, but my need to create was still there, quietly beating. The waiting became a strange territory filled with fear, frustration, vulnerability, but also with an inner strength that refused to fade. So I decided to challenge myself, to take the brush with the hand I was not accustomed to using, and to allow that initial awkwardness to speak as well.

This work is, therefore, a form of self-portrait from an inner condition. Each color contains a different emotion from that moment: uncertainty, resistance, fragility, hope, the impulse to continue. The forms seem to float, to search for balance, to support one another, as if they were waiting for something that has not yet revealed itself.

That is why I titled it Latency, because it speaks of what is present even though it has not yet fully manifested. It speaks of a painting that was waiting inside me when my dominant hand could not respond.
